Meet Our Team

Caring Relationships at the Center of Learning

At Bilingual House, we believe strong relationships are at the heart of early childhood education.

Our team is committed to creating a warm, respectful, and engaging environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow with confidence.

We value:

  • patience,
  • professionalism,
  • communication,
  • and thoughtful guidance throughout each student’s early learning journey.

As a small-capacity center, we are able to build meaningful connections with both students and families and provide a more personal learning experience.

Hanqing Zhao (Mr. Han)

Owner, Program Administrator, and Lead Teacher

Mr. Han is the owner and lead educator of Bilingual House. Building on a program that has served Ann Arbor families since 2007, he has guided its transformation into Bilingual House, where bilingual immersion is paired with intentional teaching, strong relationships, and a deep respect for each child’s individual development. Inspired by the kind of bilingual preschool he wished had existed when he was growing up, he has built a learning environment where meaningful relationships, thoughtful routines, joyful exploration, and authentic language experiences are woven into every day.

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Mr. Han has dedicated much of his career to language education. Before leading Bilingual House, he taught English in Shenzhen, China, and later spent two years serving as a volunteer in Taiwan, where he also taught English and developed a deep appreciation for Mandarin language and Chinese culture. After returning to the United States, he taught Mandarin at the Provo Missionary Training Center, where immersive language learning formed the foundation of instruction. Together, these experiences continue to shape the language immersion philosophy that guides Bilingual House today.

As both an educator and program administrator, Mr. Han is actively involved in every aspect of the center’s daily life. He believes young children learn best through meaningful communication, movement, exploration, play, and strong relationships with the caring adults around them. He enjoys building lasting connections with children and families and believes that a strong partnership between home and school provides the best foundation for lifelong learning.

Outside of Bilingual House, Mr. Han enjoys exploring different languages and cultures, reading, and continually learning. He believes that a child’s earliest experiences with language, relationships, and curiosity can shape a lifetime of learning, and that belief continues to inspire both his own professional growth and the vision of Bilingual House. He is currently completing both the Infant/Toddler and Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential programs to further strengthen the program’s educational foundation.

Yanqin Sui (Ms. Sui)

Assistant Teacher

Drawing on many years of experience working with young children, Ms. Sui enjoys helping each child feel understood, encouraged, and appreciated as an individual. She especially enjoys story time, music and movement, and language activities, and strives to create a classroom where children feel heard, respected, and eager to participate.

A graduate of Beijing Normal University, Ms. Sui has spent many years working with young learners in both China and Europe. She helped organize Chinese language and cultural summer camps in Beijing and later taught children ages 3½ to 11 at a Chinese language school in Vienna, Austria. These experiences strengthened her belief that children learn best when teaching is tailored to each child’s unique personality, interests, and stage of development.

Ms. Sui believes that loving children means continually learning alongside them. She strives to understand each child’s individual needs, celebrate their daily progress, and provide the warmth, encouragement, and guidance that help children grow with confidence. She hopes every child in her classroom feels connected, understood, and excited to learn each day.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Sui enjoys traveling, reading, and listening to music. She believes that life’s experiences—both joyful and challenging—help us continue to grow, and she brings that same spirit of curiosity, resilience, and lifelong learning to her work with children and families.

Her experiences as both a parent and an educator inspire her to care for every child with patience, compassion, and encouragement.

Ms. Jiang believes every child deserves to feel valued and successful. She hopes to inspire children to develop confidence, kindness, and a love of learning while creating joyful memories during their time at Bilingual House.

Ms. He believes that every child learns at their own pace and enjoys encouraging children as they discover new interests through play. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English, and Japanese, she is committed to creating a calm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported.

Before joining Bilingual House, Ms. He earned a master’s degree from Ryukoku University in Kyoto, Japan, and gained teaching experience at a Chinese language school. These experiences strengthened her appreciation for helping children develop a lifelong love of learning. She was inspired to pursue early childhood education after watching her own daughter learn and grow. Becoming a parent deepened her understanding of the importance of the early years and reinforced her belief that children flourish when they are given patience, kindness, and encouragement.

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, taking walks, trying new recipes, and discovering activities she can bring back to the classroom. One of her favorite experiences was raising silkworms with her daughter as a hands-on way to explore nature and the life cycle of insects.

For Ms. He, the most rewarding part of teaching is watching children discover new abilities and grow with confidence. Drawing from both her experience as an educator and as a mother, she is dedicated to helping every child feel encouraged, supported, and excited to learn.
